The Shawn Carter Scholarship Fund attracts candidates from all backgrounds and each has a compelling desire to pursue higher education, in spite of many personal, socio-economic setbacks, including teen pregnancy, former incarceration, interrupted schooling, poverty, and homelessness. They are hardworking, resilient and determined individuals who want to make positive contributions to their local and global communities, and they turn to SCF to help make their ambitions and dreams possible.
Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria
- Must be pursuing a first undergraduate degree
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must have a minimum GPA of 2.0
- Household income must not exceed $75,000
- Must be 25 years old or younger
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form
- Provide proof of U.S. citizenship or permanent resident status
- Submit academic transcripts or a GED certificate
- Provide documentation of household income and financial need
- Submit proof of enrollment or acceptance at an accredited educational institution
You do not have to be currently enrolled in school to apply, but you must show evidence from an accredited institution that you will be enrolling, and that the scholarship support you seek will be applied there. You may submit your application beginning on April 1st. The scholarshp deadline is April 30th.
