The Washington Policy Center (WPC) awards two annual scholarships of $5,000 each to college students who demonstrate leadership, commitment to public service, and strong personal values. Additionally, 10 Silver Cloud Foundation Free Market Essay Prizes of $100 each will be awarded. Past winners have utilized these funds to achieve remarkable goals and have made significant contributions to WPC.
Scholarship Details
- Two scholarships of $5,000 each awarded annually
- 10 additional $100 essay prizes from the Silver Cloud Foundation
- Scholarships recognize leadership, commitment to public service, and personal values
- Open to Washington State residents pursuing postsecondary education
Eligibility Criteria
- Washington State resident
- Completed at least one year of postsecondary education in Washington
- Enrolled as a full-time student during the coming academic year
- Maintains an above-average GPA
- Demonstrates good oral and written communication skills
- Membership in Washington Policy Center is not required
Application Process
- Prepare a resume or list of academic, community, and/or professional accomplishments
- Provide the name of your academic institution, degree or certification, and cumulative GPA
- Write an essay of no more than 650 words on the topic: "Please explain why free markets are vital to your future in Washington."
- Upload your application and complete the online form
- Submit all materials by July 5th
