The SC HOPE Scholarship Program is a merit-based scholarship designed for students attending a four-year institution in South Carolina who do not qualify for the LIFE or Palmetto Fellows Scholarships. This scholarship is awarded only during the freshman year of attendance, providing financial support for students pursuing higher education.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must meet the general eligibility requirements for state scholarships
  • Attend an eligible four-year institution in South Carolina
  • For high school early graduates (December/January):
    • Complete all SC high school graduation requirements mid-year
    • Submit required documentation to the institution’s financial aid department by the established deadline

Application Process

  1. Ensure eligibility for the SC HOPE Scholarship by meeting academic requirements
  2. Submit the following required documentation to the financial aid department of your chosen institution:
    • A final official high school transcript demonstrating all required items
    • A letter on school letterhead signed by the principal/school counselor confirming completion of SC graduation requirements
    • SAT/ACT scores (if applicable)
  3. Check with your institution’s financial aid department for specific deadlines and additional requirements
