The Doak Walker Scholarship Award was established in memory of 1948 Heisman Trophy winner Doak Walker, a three-time All-American, former Detroit Lion, and a member of both the College and Pro Football Halls of Fame. As a long-time resident of Steamboat Springs, Walker embodied citizenship, leadership, sportsmanship, and academic excellence. This scholarship honors student-athletes who exemplify these same qualities.
