The STLE Jeanie S. McCoy Scholarship is an international essay contest open to deserving women pursuing an education and future career in tribology. This scholarship honors Jeanie S. McCoy, who began her career as a scientist in the 1940s when technical careers were largely male-dominated. The scholarship provides $5,000 to the recipient, whose essay will also be featured in Tribology & Lubrication Technology (TLT) magazine and recognized at the STLE Annual Meeting. The scholarship aims to inspire future female leaders in the field of tribology.

Eligibility Criteria
- Female student enrolled in undergraduate or graduate program
- Pursuing an engineering or science degree applicable to tribology
- Selection based on essay quality, faculty recommendation, and extracurricular activities
- Students previously awarded the Booser award are eligible if research is different
- Students who have won the Klaus award are not eligible
- Students cannot win multiple McCoy awards

- Submit an essay for consideration
- Include a letter of recommendation from a faculty advisor or educator
- Complete the application by December 1st
- The scholarship recipient will be announced by January 31st
