The EmpowerHER Scholarship is designed to support the academic and personal development of young Black women who exhibit outstanding leadership, academic excellence, and a demonstrated commitment to community engagement. This scholarship seeks to empower recipients to achieve their educational goals while fostering a spirit of service and leadership.
Scholarship Details
- Two scholarship awards available
- $500 awarded to each selected recipient
- Funds may be used for tuition, textbooks, technology, or other academic expenses
- One-time, non-renewable scholarship
- Recipients recognized at the Swing Phi Swing Social Fellowship Inc Atlanta Graduate Chapter annual community event
Eligibility Criteria
- Identify as a Black woman or girl
- Current high school senior
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale
- Demonstrated leadership through school, community, or extracurricular involvement
- Commitment to service, empowerment, or advocacy within the community
Application Process
- Complete the EmpowerHER Scholarship application form
- Submit an official or unofficial academic transcript
- Provide one letter of recommendation from a teacher, mentor, or community leader
- Write a 500 to 750 word personal essay describing leadership journey, community impact, and educational goals
- Submit all required materials by the stated deadline
