For Florida residents only. Many students experience difficulty with the costs of living and studying. This scholarship aims to assist students who experience financial difficulty arising from having limited income.
Scholarship Details
- Available exclusively to Florida residents
- Funds may be used for textbooks, dormitory housing, or contributions toward tuition and fees
- Up to two recipients per year; one award per lifetime per student
- No cash allocation; funds applied directly to expenses
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be 18 years or older, or have a parent/guardian apply on their behalf
- Must be an incoming freshman or sophomore enrolled full-time in a bachelor’s degree program
- Must reside or attend school in Florida
Selection Criteria
- Evidence of sustained academic achievement (official transcript required)
- Documented financial hardship (e.g., bank statements, tax returns, government assistance)
- Demonstrated commitment to community/social service activities (number of service hours required)
- Two letters of recommendation highlighting the applicant’s achievements and potential
- Commitment to ongoing personal and professional learning
Application Process
- Complete the Scholarship Application Form
- Provide a statement explaining your career aspirations and reasons for pursuing your field of study
- Detail involvement in professional/community organizations
- Submit documentation demonstrating financial hardship
Priority will be given to those with life altering or serious illnesses or living/economic conditions, and/or those who have medical expenses that may pose an ongoing financial drain that may jeopardize one’s educational status.
