The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB) provides need-based, renewable grants to Texas residents attending Texas colleges or universities.
Scholarship Details
- Grants of up to $6,405 annually
- May only be used for tuition cost
- Available for renewal
Eligibility Criteria
- Texas resident
- Demonstrates financial need
- Enrolled in a degree plan leading to a first associate, baccalaureate, master’s, professional, or doctoral degree at a Texas college or university
- Must commit to
- Complete a minimum of 24 (if undergraduate student) or 18 (if graduate student) credit hours every academic year
- Have a 75% completion rate for hours attempted each academic year
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale
Application Process
- Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
- Considered automatically if eligibility requirements are met
The Texas Tuition Equalization Grant Program aims to promote the best use of existing educational resources and facilities within this state. Awards are distributed to recipients by their college or university of attendance.
