The Carl James Dunlap Memorial Student Award, administered by the University of Washington DO-IT center, seeks to support UW students with physical disabilities in achieving their education goals. The scholarship was established by the Dunlap family to honor the memory of UW student, Carl Dunlap.
Scholarship Details
- Awards are available to up to four UW students each year
- Individual award amounts range from $1,000 to $2,500
- Priority given to students who utilize a wheelchair and/or hire PCAs
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a student at the University of Washington
- Have a physical disability
- Priority consideration for students who use a wheelchair and/or require PCAs
Application Process
- Confirm eligibility as a UW student with a physical disability
- Complete the scholarship application form
- Provide any required supporting documents or information
- Submit your application before the specified deadline
- Use the award funds for tuition or approved school-related expenses
The purpose of each award is to help students pay for tuition and/or school related expenses (e.g., personal care assistants – PCAs). The fund prioritizes awards for students who, like Carl, utilize a wheelchair and/or hire PCAs. Responses to application questions can be submitted online during September - November during the academic year.
