The Coolidge Scholarship is an annually awarded, full-ride, presidential scholarship that covers a student’s tuition, room, board, and expenses for four years of undergraduate study. This one-of-a-kind scholarship may be used at any accredited college or university in the U.S.
Scholarship Details
- Two to three scholarships are awarded annually
- Provides a full scholarship for four years of undergraduate study
- Scholarship may be used at any accredited college or university in the United States
- Covers tuition, room, board, and other eligible educational expenses
- Full tuition scholarship
- Recipients participate in an orientation at the Coolidge Historic Site
- Finalists receive an all-expenses-paid interview weekend in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, for themselves and one parent or guardian
- One hundred outstanding applicants are recognized as Coolidge Senators and invited to an all-expenses-paid summit in Washington, D.C.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a current high school junior
- Must plan to enroll full-time at an accredited United States college or university following high school graduation
- Must be a United States citizen or legal permanent resident
- Must demonstrate academic excellence, leadership, and a commitment to public service
- Must embody values associated with President Calvin Coolidge, including integrity, ambition, and respect
- Immediate family members of the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation and the Coolidge Scholars Program are not eligible
Application Process
- Complete the online scholarship application after the application portal opens in the fall
- Arrange for official high school transcripts to be submitted directly to the Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation
- Obtain and submit two letters of recommendation
- Complete all required application materials before the published deadline
- If selected as a finalist, attend the interview weekend in Plymouth Notch, Vermont, with travel expenses provided
- Monitor communications regarding finalist selection, scholarship decisions, and Coolidge Senator recognition
Students apply for the Coolidge Scholarship during their junior year of high school. Finalists are flown in for a finalist weekend at the Coolidge Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont where they interview with the Coolidge Scholars Finalist Jury. Recipients of the Coolidge Scholarship are notified of their award late in their junior year, before college application (note: current high school seniors are not eligible to apply).
