Scholarship Description

The Promise provides graduates of El Dorado High School with a scholarship covering tuition and mandatory fees that can be used at any accredited two- or four-year, public or private educational institution in the US. The maximum amount payable is up to the highest annual resident tuition at an Arkansas public university.

Scholarship Details

  • Covers tuition and mandatory fees at any regionally accredited two-year or four-year public or private college or university.
  • Available to eligible graduates of the El Dorado school district.
  • Requires recipients to maintain enrollment and academic progress to continue receiving the scholarship.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Attend El Dorado High School for all four years of high school.
  • Maintain continuous enrollment in the El Dorado School District through graduation.
  • Maintain a minimum 2.0 cumulative college GPA.
  • Enroll in at least 12 credit hours per semester or 8 credit hours per quarter.
  • Complete at least 24 credit hours during each academic year.

Application Process

  1. Graduate from El Dorado High School after meeting all enrollment eligibility requirements.
  2. Apply for admission to a regionally accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States.
  3. Complete any required El Dorado Promise Scholarship application or verification materials.
  4. Maintain the required enrollment status, academic progress, and minimum cumulative GPA to remain eligible for the scholarship.

In 2024, the Promise scholarship expanded to fund vocational and technical certifications or degrees at South Arkansas College, further broadening opportunities for students pursuing career and technical education.
