The Negro Leagues Committee (NLC) of the Society for American Baseball Research (SABR) is pleased to announce their essay-writing contest for high school seniors. The Jimmie Crutchfield Memorial Scholarship will honor one high school senior with a $1,000 prize and give out one $500 award for special recognition. Applicants must be current high school seniors anticipating completion of a high school diploma at time of application who plan to pursue a degree at an accredited post-secondary institution in the US, with a minimum 2.5 GPA.
