Each year, The Mikkelson Foundation Scholarship is awarded to outstanding high school graduates from Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, or Idaho who have been accepted to an accredited college or university. This scholarship recognizes students who excel in mathematics and science and are pursuing majors in engineering, physical or biological sciences, or mathematics.
Scholarship Details
- Renewable for up to four years
- Supports students majoring in engineering, physical or biological sciences, or mathematics
Eligibility Criteria
- Must graduate from a Colorado, Wyoming, Montana, or Idaho high school
- Must enroll in an accredited four-year college or university in the fall
- Must major in engineering, mathematics, or natural sciences
- Minimum unweighted GPA of 3.7
- Minimum SAT score of 1200 or ACT score of 28
Application Process
- Submit a complete official transcript of your high school academic record
- Include copies of national standardized test scores if not listed on the transcript
- Provide three references from high school teachers, counselors, employers, or activities directors
- Complete and submit the scholarship application form
- Write and include an original personal essay
- Mail the completed application package to The Mikkelson Foundation by April 11
The Mikkelson Foundation will provide three scholarships of $5000 each. The scholarship is renewable for up to a maximum of four years providing that the recipient remains a student in good standing at their college or university.
