The Morgan Jayne Hill Scholarship is an annual competition for Illinois high school seniors that is aimed at bringing awareness about Illinois’ Safe Haven Law.
Scholarship Details
- Annual scholarship competition for Illinois high school seniors

- Six scholarships will be awarded; four $1,000 scholarships, and two $500 runner-up scholarships
Eligibility Criteria
- High school senior residing in Illinois
- Submit either an essay (up to 500 words) or artwork
- Complete the online Scholarship Application by March 1st
Application Process
- Choose between an essay or artwork submission
- If submitting an essay, answer: “How would you raise awareness of the Safe Haven Law among young people in your community, and why do you believe this awareness is important for preventing unsafe abandonments? What does the existence of this law mean to you personally, and how does it shape your views on compassion, responsibility, and community care?”
- If submitting artwork, Create a piece of artwork that is aimed at promoting awareness of the Safe Haven Law that can be used to print on a T-shirt. Keep in mind size, color, shape, and details to create something truly eye-catching.
- Visit the Save Abandoned Babies Foundation website to gather information on the law and current awareness efforts
- Submit your essay or artwork along with the completed online application by March 1st
All submissions will be reviewed by the Scholarship Committee and voted on for awards in each category. This year, we will be awarding six scholarships: two $1,000 Scholarships for best Essay, two $1,000 Scholarships for best Artwork, one $500 Scholarship for best Essay Runner-Up, and one $500 Scholarship for best Artwork Runner-Up. Scholarship winners will be notified if they have won a scholarship by May 1st.
