The Quell Foundation Survivor Scholarship supports high school seniors and current undergraduate or graduate students who have experienced the devastating loss of a parent, caregiver, or sibling to suicide. Established by The Quell Foundation’s Irene Pasierb Memorial Fund, this scholarship raises awareness about the disparities in care and treatment for individuals with mental illnesses while providing financial assistance to students who demonstrate resilience and academic excellence.
Scholarship Details
- A one-time merit-based and financial need-based scholarship
- Amount awarded is based on demonstrated need, academic achievement, and commitment to shared goals
- Must be used for tuition expenses during the coming academic year
- Encourages recipients to participate in The Quell Foundation’s awareness events
Eligibility Criteria
- Must have lost a parent, caregiver, or sibling to suicide
- Must be accepted and enrolled in an accredited college or university within the United States
- Open to graduating high school seniors, undergraduate, and graduate students maintaining full-time enrollment
- Must obtain a passing grade in all classes
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.50
- Must demonstrate an understanding and commitment to The Quell Foundation’s mission
Application Process
- Prepare the following materials:
- Academic transcript
- Personal statement
- Documentation of financial need (Form 1040, Student Aid Report, or Tax Return Form)
- Two letters of recommendation (from a professor, coach, counselor, or manager)
- Submit the completed application and required materials by the specified deadline
- Participate in an interview if requested by The Quell Foundation scholarship committee
- Following preliminary notification, submit a headshot and thank-you video clip for donor acknowledgment
Application window: March 7th - March 14th (11:59pm, PST). Early or late submissions will not be reviewed.
