Scholarship Details
- Scholarship grants support local residents pursuing higher education after high school
- Applicants who meet the requirements will be interviewed by the Susan Fund Board of Directors
- All application information is kept in the strictest confidence
- The annual scholarship reception for recipients and their families and friends is held at the end of June
Eligibility Criteria
- Be a current resident of Fairfield County, Connecticut
- Have been diagnosed with cancer at some time in your life
- Be planning to attend or currently attending an accredited post-high school institution of higher learning
- Meet the scholarship selection criteria, including financial need, academic performance, and community involvement
Application Process
- Complete the Susan Fund scholarship application form
- Obtain your most current high school or college transcript
- Obtain a current letter of recommendation from an employer, school authority, or friend who is not a relative
- If you are a first-time applicant, obtain a medical statement from your doctor describing your cancer diagnosis. Past recipients are also encouraged to submit a current medical statement
- Provide a recent photograph
- Complete the publicity consent requirement
- Upload any additional pertinent information you would like the Susan Fund to consider with your application
- Ensure that all uploaded documents are in PDF, JPG, JPEG, GIF, or PNG format
- If you meet the eligibility requirements, respond to the Susan Fund to schedule an interview with the Board of Directors
