About the Foundation:
Lauren & Caitlin Brady, founders of the This Is Me Foundation, were diagnosed with alopecia areata during high school. Inspired by Miss Delaware 2010, Kayla Martell, who publicly embraced her alopecia, the Brady sisters created "This Is Me" in 2011, a YouTube PSA to raise awareness and inspire those facing adversity.
Since January 2012, the foundation has been granting scholarships to local high school seniors enrolled in college, recognizing leadership skills and overcoming adversity. These scholarships are dedicated to the memory of their friends Ryan Risco and Cait Chivonne Polhill.
In 2013, the 'This Is Me Scholarship, Inspired by Ryan Risco & Cait Chivonne Polhill' expanded nationally, offering scholarships to graduating high school seniors in the United States who have/had alopecia. To date, 125 scholarships have been awarded to individuals who embody the spirit of inspiration.
