The Forté Orthopedic Research Institute, the non-profit arm of Forté Sports Medicine and Orthopedics, is excited to announce the opening of the 20th annual Brady Comeback Award nominations. This award is unique because it honors both male and female student-athletes at the high school level from Indiana who have distinguished themselves by overcoming adversity or injury and returned and excelled beyond expectations in their respective sport(s).
Scholarship Details
- Honors one male and one female high school student-athlete from Indiana each year
- Recognizes students who have overcome injury or adversity and excelled beyond expectations
- Each recipient receives a $1,500 scholarship
- The banquet will be held on April 1th, at Gridiron Hall
Eligibility Criteria
- Nominees must be high school student-athletes in the state of Indiana
- Must have overcome significant adversity or injury and demonstrated excellence in their sport upon returning
- Each high school may nominate one male and one female student-athlete
- Nominations must be submitted through the high school administration
- Nominees must meet all award criteria as outlined by the Forté Orthopedic Research Institute
Application Process
- High school administrators, coaches, athletic directors, athletic trainers, families, or community members collaborate to identify qualified nominees
- Complete the official nomination form available on the programs tab
- Submit one male and one female nominee per high school before the February 13th deadline
- Include up to two letters of recommendation supporting the student’s comeback story and achievements
- Do not include supplemental materials such as photographs, news articles, or highlight videos
- Recipients will be honored at the IHSAA Foundation Impact Awards banquet in April
Our Board of Directors is asking athletic directors, coaches, athletic trainers, family, and community to come together to nominate one male and one female student-athlete who satisfy the criteria outlined in this form. The board will select two student-athletes, one male and one female from the high schools in Indiana, as the Brady Comeback Award winners.
