The Thomas H. Macbride Leadership Scholarship is awarded to outstanding high school seniors who have demonstrated an ability to excel in academics, extra-curricular activities, and human service. The scholarship is available to any male, graduating senior who attends The University of Iowa.
Scholarship Details
- Awarded to male graduating high school seniors planning to attend the University of Iowa
- Total value up to $10,000 per year, with individual awards ranging from $250 to $3,000
- Scholarship is non-transferable to other individuals or institutions
- Application deadline is July 31st
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a male high school senior graduating in the current academic year
- Must be enrolling at the University of Iowa
- Demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular activities, and community service
- Financial need is not a factor
- Finalists must be available for an in-person interview in Iowa City at the Acacia Fraternity House
Application Process
- Complete the scholarship application form in full
- Ensure all materials are submitted before the July 31st deadline
- Wait for confirmation of application review and potential finalist selection
- If selected, participate in an in-person interview in Iowa City at the Acacia Fraternity House
- Receive notification of award during the fall semester
Mr. Macbride had a huge impact on this university until his passing in 1934. His legacy lives on through the students that are educated daily in his building and through the Thomas H. Macbride Leadership Scholarship which strives to reward students with the same passion for education and betterment that he held.
