The Tzu Chi USA Scholarship is a scholarship program funded by Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation to recognize and provide financial assistance to outstanding college-bound high school graduates and continuing undergraduate students who were prior recipients in selected areas of the United States.
Scholarship Details
- Funded by the Buddhist Tzu Chi Foundation
- Supports college-bound high school seniors and eligible continuing undergraduates

Eligibility Criteria
- High school applicants must be graduating seniors or equivalent
- Undergraduate applicants must be former Tzu Chi Scholarship recipients
- Demonstrated financial need for college tuition and related expenses
- Enrollment as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college
- Continuing undergraduates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
- Continuing undergraduates must complete 50 volunteer hours with Tzu Chi or another nonprofit organization during the current academic year
Application Process
- Complete the appropriate Tzu Chi USA Scholarship application form
- Submit required financial documentation demonstrating financial need with all Social Security Numbers blacked out
- High school applicants must submit one community recommendation letter
- Continuing undergraduate applicants must submit an official college transcript
- Continuing undergraduate applicants must submit signed proof of 50 completed volunteer hours
- Upload all required materials with the completed application by the stated deadline
