Scholarship Description

The Edna M. Blum Endowed Scholarship is open to African-American residents of New York City with an unmet financial need attending colleges/universities throughout the United States. The scholarship will provide an award up to $5,000 depending on the financial need of the student as verified by the attending university or college. To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must: reside in one of the five boroughs; be a full time student at an accredited 4 year college or university; be an incoming undergraduate or master's-level student; be a US citizen or permanent resident; and have a 2.5 GPA.

UNCF’s mission is to build a robust and nationally-recognized pipeline of under-represented students who, because of UNCF support, become highly-qualified college graduates and to ensure that our network of member institutions is a respected model of best practice in moving students to and through college. UNCF is the nation’s largest private scholarship provider to minority group members. Each year, we award more than $100 million in scholarships to students attending more than 1,100 schools across the country, including our prestigious network of 37 HBCUs.
