The Achievement Award Program is offered to students who are enrolled full-time at the University of California- Berkeley. To be eligible for the Incoming First Year scholarship, applicants must: have completed high school or GED requirements in California; be eligible for Cal Grant A; and submit a Statement of Intent to Register. For the Incoming Junior Transfer scholarships, applicants must: have completed high school, GED or community college transfer requirements in California; be eligible for Cal Grant A; and submit a Statement of Intent to Register. The number of recipients will vary.
Since 1999, The Achievement Award Program (TAAP) provides high-achieving, community-minded students from low-income and first generation backgrounds with resources to complete their undergraduate degree at UC Berkeley. This scholarship comes with holistic programming to support TAAP scholars in their personal, academic, and professional growth. Participation in this programming is mandatory and will connect TAAP scholars to a community of Alumni Scholars, Cal alumni, and staff to help them navigate Cal.
