Scholarship Description

The American University School of Communication offers prestigious merit-based fellowships in partnership with leading Washington, DC-based organizations. These fellowships allow you to gain professional experience while completing your graduate program. Each fellowship provides varying amounts of tuition remission and stipend funding. The School of Communication also offers merit-based and need-based Donor? Scholarships. These scholarships are awarded based on the criteria established by the scholarship’s donors. Additional scholarships are available to continuing students.

The Van Swearingen Scholarship is awarded to a graduate student specializing in print journalism who demonstrates exceptional promise for professional excellence and achievement in their chosen field.
