Virginia Commonwealth University's four-year Presidential Scholarship covers the cost of tuition and fees up to $16,000 per year (maximum amount of $8,000 per semester), as well as room and board. Room allowance is equal to the cost of a room in the Honors College residence hall; board is equivalent to the 250 Block plus $225 Dining Dollars meal plan. The estimated total value of this four-year award is approximately $114,356.
Scholarship Details
- All incoming first-year students who apply to VCU by Nov. 1 will be considered for the VCU Presidential Scholarship.
- This scholarship is renewable through your undergraduate studies if you maintain good standing at VCU.

- Recipients will be selected based on academic merit.
Application Process
- Send your Common Application and official high school transcript to apply to VCU by November 1st.
- By completing the application as outlined, you will automatically be considered for the VCU Presidential Scholarship.
- If selected, maintain good standing at VCU to be eligible for the renewal of the Presidential Scholarship throughout undergrad.
Merit-based scholarships cover in-state costs only. If you get a four-year scholarship, it’s renewable for up to three consecutive years if you complete at least 28 credit hours on a full-time basis over the fall and spring semesters and maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or better.
