Our WID Michigan High School Scholarship is for women in their senior year of high school who plan to attend a Michigan university next fall and are interested in STEM. Additionally, we offer a WID Michigan College Scholarship for women who have at least junior status in college.
Scholarship Details

- High School deadline: May 22nd
- College deadline: August 15th
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be a woman
- Must be a U.S. citizen and Michigan resident
- Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
- For High School Scholarship:
- Must be a graduating high school senior
- Must plan to attend a Michigan college or university
- Must demonstrate interest in STEM and national security or defense
- Must be active in school or community
- For College Scholarship:
- Must be enrolled at an accredited Michigan college or university
- Must have at least junior standing (60 credits)
- Must demonstrate educational expenses
Application Process
- Download and complete the appropriate scholarship application.
- Provide academic records and proof of GPA.
- Submit documentation demonstrating eligibility and interest in relevant fields.
- Ensure all materials are submitted by the applicable deadline.
Women in Defense Michigan established the WID Michigan Scholarship Program in 2009 to encourage women to pursue careers related to the national security and defense interests of the United States, and to provide development opportunities to women already working in these fields. From the program’s inception to date, more than $100,000 in scholarships have been awarded.
