Words of Comfort Ministries (WOC) awards a variety of $1,000 scholarships to community service-oriented high school seniors every year. There are standard scholarships and ROTC-specific scholarships available.
Scholarship Details
- Merit-based
- Both ROTC and non-ROTC students may apply
- Multiple winners per year
Eligibility Criteria
- High school senior
- African-American
- Georgia or North Carolina resident
- Minimum GPA of 2.5
- Record of community service
- Plan to attend a 4-year college upon graduation
- For ROTC division, plan to join college ROTC programs
Application Process
- Navigate to the WOC website and complete all forms, including:
- WOC Application Form
- WOC Application Certification Form
- WOC Scholarship Applicant Checklist
- Applicant Ability and Skills Rating Form
- Submit all forms and supplementary materials in advance of the deadline
Multiple students win each year. Funds are allocated to support both ROTC and non-ROTC members.
