The Letitia Moore Charitable Trust Scholarship was established by the York Art Association in 2009 from a bequest by the late artist and York Art Association member, Letitia Moore. The scholarship honors Moore's wish to provide tuition scholarships to deserving art and/or art history students.
Eligibility
To apply for the scholarship, a student must:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college or university
- Be majoring in art or art history
- Have completed his or her first year of study with a grade point average of at least 3.0 or greater.
How to Apply
Submit an application letter, including:
- Describe the applicant’s educational and career goals, and any information which shows the applicant is a deserving student.
- Identify the names and telephone numbers of two or three references familiar with the applicant's ability and aspirations.
- Provide proof of eligibility. This must come in the form of an official transcript from the college or university which shows that the applicant is enrolled beyond the first year of study with a major in art or art history, has attained a grade point average of at least 3.0 the prior year of study. Note: If the institution does not use a GPA grading system a letter indicating the students good standing from the department chair or advisor may be substituted.
YAA Trustees, their families or designees who make candidate recommendations are not eligible to participate in this program.
