Scholarship Description

The You First Foundation Scholarship supports students whose lives have been impacted by traumatic medical events, helping them continue their educational journey. Founded by First Service Credit Union employees in memory of a colleague lost to a brain aneurysm, the foundation is committed to improving lives through education. This scholarship is open to students of all ages who meet academic and residency requirements and have experienced a traumatic medical event personally or within their family. It offers both financial assistance and encouragement to those facing extraordinary challenges.

Scholarship Details

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a resident of Texas
  • High school graduate or GED recipient
  • Enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited college, university, or vocational school
  • Minimum GPA of 2.7
  • Must have been personally or familially affected by a traumatic medical event
  • Provide two letters of recommendation
  • If applicable, provide transcripts from current or previous educational institutions
