ZGF is committed to supporting the next generation of designers and we encourage all interested applicants across Architectural, Interior, Urban, or Landscape Design to apply. We are looking for students who display a commitment to their craft and a dedication to personal development in their chosen field.
Scholarship Details
- Open to students entering their final year in an accredited design program in the fall
- Fields include architecture, interior design, urban planning and design, and landscape architecture
- Winner eligible for a ten week paid internship at a ZGF office in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, Washington DC, or New York
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicant must be enrolled in a NAAB, CIDA, PAB, or LAAB accredited program in the United States
- Applicant must be entering the final year of their program in fall
- Applicant must demonstrate talent, originality, and commitment to design
Application Process
- Prepare a resume outlining academic and professional experience
- Compile an academic portfolio including up to five design projects with written descriptions and clear, legible visuals
- Submit the portfolio as a single PDF or link to an online portfolio following stated guidelines
- Write a one page essay describing how you hope to positively impact the world through design
- Obtain a letter of recommendation from a faculty member with direct knowledge of your work
- If selected as a finalist, submit a three minute personal video introduction in early to mid February
Established in 2004, in memory of ZGF founding partner Norm Zimmer, the Norm Zimmer Scholarship exemplifies Norm’s spirit and devotion to design, community, and lifelong learning. With this guiding ethos in mind, each year one student is selected to receive $10,000 for university tuition and fees, and a paid internship with ZGF.
