Scholarship Description

The Zonta Club of Washington, D.C. Undergraduate Scholarship program was established to support women of any age pursuing a bachelor's degree in areas such as but not limited to business, engineering, healthcare, education, technology, mathematics, or the sciences (social or basic). Scholarship awards are given annually.

Scholarship Details

  • Open to women pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Award amounts generally range from $2,000 to $5,000
  • Scholarships awarded annually
  • Awardees are notified in mid summer or fall

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale
  • Must demonstrate financial need
  • Must have completed at least 12 credit hours at the time of application submission
  • Must have completed at least 25 credit hours at the start of the coming academic year
  • AP credits earned during high school do not count toward credit hour requirements
  • Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program at one of the following institutions: American University, The Catholic University of America, Gallaudet University, Georgetown University, The George Washington University, Howard University, Trinity Washington University, or the University of the District of Columbia
  • Previous awardees are encouraged to apply
  • Residency in the District of Columbia is not required

Application Process

  1. Confirm you meet the GPA, credit hour, enrollment, and financial need requirements
  2. Monitor for the application release in for the coming academic year
  3. Complete and submit the application according to the instructions provided
  4. Await notification of award decisions in mid summer or fall

You do not need to be a resident of the District of Columbia; however, you must have completed the equivalent of at least 12 credit hours as of the date the application is submitted and will have completed the equivalent of at least 25 credit hours at the start of the upcoming academic year.
