Hello, I'm a senior in high school and I want to apply to this scholarship because my dream is to be a civil engineer and parents make below the average American household. Both my parents work super hard and my dream is to impress them. I believe this scholarship can greatly assist me on my journey of becoming a civil engineer. Thank you.

Fatoumata Drammeh  on 2/1/2021 10:39:47 PM

I applied for this scholarship because my parents work paycheck to paycheck most of the time. Tuition and college expenses fall 100% on me. I won't get the luxury of getting financial help from my parents simply because they can't afford it. I have 6 siblings and my parents have to supply for all of them so getting this scholarship would mean that I will be able to pay for my school and use the rest for other expenses such as textbooks. Getting this scholarship would relieve a lot of that stress and pay for a lot of my college expenses. Thank you for this opportunity and I really hope that you guys consider me for this scholarship.

antonio vazquez  on 2/1/2021 9:46:45 PM

I have a dream. Sometimes, we hear or say this amazing phrase, but what does a dream really mean? A dream is something that makes you happy, is something where you work hard to have come true. It is something that no matter what happens, you are going to put your own self to get, and therefore is when you know if this is really your dream. My dream is to change education for guys that want to study, yet they can’t because they don’t have the money or they do not receive a good eduction. Sometimes I hear “it’s impossible“ or “why is this your dream?”, but when someone listens to my story, they know why this is my dream. When I was a child I was born in a zone poor, but this was not going to stop me. However, my story really does not matter since the important thing is what I’m doing now. In Venezuela, the country where I live, I made a group of 5 adolescents and our mission is to change the lives of each other, and here is where my dream starts. Every sunset when I’m in my room I think about how I can change the world. Of course it won’t be easy, but I need to bring help and education to those children. When I went to the hospital I read to them my favorite book “Don Quixote”, and when I finished reading I saw the faces of children and their beautiful smiles, smiles are what I want children to have. With something small I changed their lives for a few minutes. In that moment I knew that’s not important how big you do things, the relevance is to start doing something. My project and my purpose aside of changing the lives of children with my platform is for everyone to know that no matter where you start, the possibilities for you and your future are limited only by the depths of you own imagination.

Alexia S.  on 1/30/2021 2:05:07 AM

Pleasantries, I am a senior high school student from the Philippines. I am applying for this scholarship to help my parents and my brother, my parents sacrificed a lot for me and it's time for me to pay them back by applying on a scholarship that will cover my 6-year course. My family owns a business that is enough to feed us but with the course that I will be taking in the future, the money that we're making is not enough to pay for it. My brother on the other side will sacrifice his studies for me, instead of enrolling in the private school that he's currently in, he will transfer to other schools just to earn money for my college. This is such a great opportunity for me and for my family, thank you.

James Vincent Yaun  on 1/29/2021 8:29:20 PM

Acosta, Bryan T.  on 1/29/2021 12:19:17 AM

Good Day! I'm a first year college student here in the Philippines. I'm currently Hospitality Management Student. I'm applying for this scholarship to help in pursuing my study as well as lessen my parents’ burdens .My father is our only source of income and because of this pandemic, my parents now struggle to finance my study as well as my sibling. Knowing that the academic year still moves on, being left behind is the least of my choices. Regarding my academic standing, I never got any failing grades and never planning to have one. Good grade is one of my priorities and I can say that maintaining these numbers are in my checklist. Granting this financial assistance program will surely be a great help in pursuing my study. It will indeed be appreciated

Delanyo D  on 1/24/2021 5:02:28 AM

Frankly, i would love to finance my second degree myself but this dream cannot see the day light because of my current employment status (jobless) which is partly due to corona virus and weak government policies towards workers who are not fully under government employment list.

Milena M.  on 1/23/2021 9:48:01 AM

Hello, my name is Milena Mirsaeva and I am a senior in high school. It would be an honor to be nominated for this scholarship and even win a small amount to pay for books or transportation in college. I live with my 74-year-old grandmother and a single immigrant mother, who is strong and accomplished so much in a foreign country despite coming here alone and knowing little to know English while also battling Multiple Sclerosis. Ever since I was little, my mother was sick which force me to learn to take care of myself and handle situations independently. As I got older, so has my mother and the responsibilities became greater. I have had to cook, clean, translate for her, take her to doctor appointments, fill out forms, and help her with for daily tasks, which has immensely affected my time for school work and community activities. However, I don't victimize myself, instead, I learned how to work with these circumstances in my life, which lead me to develop a love for planning. I plan out the things I need to do each day, such as homework, chores, and community service to not feel overwhelmed and stay on top of my goals. Despite my circumstances, I have been able to stay on top of my classes, pass my AP exams during a pandemic, and most importantly take care of my mother, who I love with all my heart. I would love to win this scholarship to take some of the pressure off of my mom when it comes to supporting me through my education of becoming a Physician. Thank you so much.

Mario B  on 1/22/2021 1:52:23 AM

Hi, I’m a sophomore in college and I want to apply for this scholarship because I only have support from my dad and myself. My mom isn’t really supportive in my life and I am currently not on financial aid and won’t be until I’m 24 which would only be my Senior year in college due to the fact that I have to be on my own financial aid to receive more money. The reason I can’t get financial aid through my dad is because he makes too much money. However, I have 4 other siblings that have needs as well. So honestly I could really use some help paying for college. I work a part time job and go to school but that isn’t going to be enough. My dream is to get my bachelors in Sports Management and enlist in the Air Force as a officer. Thank you in advance

Sarih Recalde  on 1/21/2021 11:30:01 AM

Hi, I'm from Ecuador. I would like to apply for this scholarship because I want to follow my dream and study abroad: Physics. My dad works, my mom is a housewife, but the salary my dad earns per month only covers the household expenses. I have always been an outstanding student, I worked very hard in school. Despite all the effort, I have always been limited to university studies by my family's finances. I am looking for a job, to save that money for college, but because of the Covid and the economic situation in my country, there are not many jobs available. What I want to explain with this last point, is that I am willing to do what I can to achieve my dream. Even if I had to work and study at the same time, since I am sure that without sacrifice, there is no victory and even if it costs me, I want to achieve it. Thank you for reading this message. I wish you all the best. Sarih R.

I plan on applying to this scholarship as a Haitian American. Coming to America at the age of 3 I thought my life was pretty normal. However, as I started growing I realized how much my parents were struggling to keep our family afloat. I'm attending NYU, and I understand that it's extremely expensive and that the name of a college doesn't always matter. However, I want to bring a name to my Haitian family to make them proud. I want to provide them generational wealth and break this curse of always having insufficient funds. Getting this scholarship will really bring some weight off my shoulders where I can focus on how I can build my career and not on the funds to get there.

I am from Afghanistan but My family immigrated to Iran Because of the war in my country. Afghan refugees living in Iran cannot have a university education. But I have been very interested in continuing my education since I was a child. Living conditions here were very difficult for us, and when I was little I had heart disease and had surgery a few years ago. My only hope is to be able to continue my education and become a useful person for the society. My only experience of life is war and displacement. So I desperately ask you to help me continue my education. (I have a degree in mathematics). best regard

Hi! I am a Grade 12 Senior High School student here in the Philippines. I want to apply for this scholarship because it will help me a lot. My older brother no longer needs to look for a better work to get a tuition, his suffering for our family will be reduced. I am not saying that going to college is just an addition to my brother's poverty but I just think that I do not want my brother to suffer just so I can study and graduate from college. It was also my only way to help my older brother, which was to further reduce his financial considerations. Because only my older brother has the ability to make way for our family to survive in poverty. So if I am one of those who choose to be given a scholar, I will do my very best to improve my education and to have a better grades.

Hello Im Ashley Dechoso from Philippines. Im only grade 10 student but im worried about my future because I really wanted to be a doctor but we dont have enough money. The reason why i wanted to be a doctor is to help because many filipinos are lack of money. Many children are sick because they cant afford the medical fee. My name is Shake. I am an Armenian living in Israel. I am so proud to be an Armenian, my father tells me we are 99% Armenian origin. All my ancestors are all Armenian. I was born in Jerusalem, Israel. I am an Israeli citizen, attending the American School in Jerusalem. I am a senior at the school. My GPA is 3.5. I will be graduating from this school on June 6, 2021. I am then going to continue my education at North Park University in Chicago, Illinois in their pre-medicine program. I live in Israel with my father and my two younger sisters. I wish to help my fellow Armenians around the world by becoming a doctor. In 2006, I lost my mother to cancer and my grandfather. My father is a hardworking travel agent in Jerusalem. His annual income is 10,000 shekels, we as a family do not make enough to cover all of the tuition expenses of the private school in Chicago. Granting this scholarship would help me continue my education in Chicago and strengthen my resolve to help my fellow Armenians in Israel, America and around the world. I am honored to be an Armenian and wish to help my fellow Armenians by becoming a medical doctor, to give back to the Armenians that I love so much.

Hi, out of millions of students like me looking up to be blessed by this scholarship I know that there's only a portion of 0.0001% that you'll actually read what I've written; but I'll still take the risk. To be born poor is not your fault but to die poor is your fault" as quoted by Bill Gates. For me yes it is true, but to be given education and to put it into waste is more heartbreaking. I am indeed one of many teenagers born in a poor family. We strive so hard everyday to survive, hoping that education will someday raise us from this uncertainties and somehow have a comfortable life. It is tough, life. That everyday as we struggle to live we would always be tempted to lose grip on hope. But no we won't. I will always strive to find light. This scholarships you are giving us is hope for people like me. I have come all my way here in college and I won't give everything up just because if financial instability. I want to make a change, to make a difference; to have a significant contribution on my time being here on earth. With the right education will only make it possible. I am a second year Architecture student from the Philippines in Lucena City, Quezon Province. I pray to God that you'll shed light and help me on my battle. To win and to inspire other people like me .

Alonna Gail J.  on 1/3/2021 2:17:08 AM

My parents are hard working and want me to achieve my goals but their low income has made it difficult for this to happen. Having the opportunity to go to college is something I value very much not only because it will benefit me but it will benefit others around me as well. The profession I want to pursue will be Child Neuroscience. I chose this profession because I enjoy working with children and want to assist those in need. First, I would like to say thank you for the opportunity to voice my story and to have a chance to give back to my parents and my community. Being raised by two Jamaican parents has taught me resilience and independence. Also growing up in Jamaica for a few years has made me crave to be just as independent and resilient as my parents because of their sacrifices and bravery. I have dreamed of becoming a General Practitioner since the second grade and I am still doing my best to achieve my dream. Winning this scholarship will get me a step closer to achieving my dreams because the financial aspect of it would be covered which will relief the stress from my parents and I. Being the captain of my schools swim team has taught me how to be an exceptional leader and listener . It is shaping me into the Doctor that I aspire to be . Thank you!

I understand that you have quite a lot of candidates applying for the scholarship. Being deserving for a scholarship award does not just have to do with past achievements, it also has to do with future plans and goals. I do pledge to go on and on to achieve great things and mainly to give back to our community. I believe that what sets me apart for this award is my combination of work ethic, my drive to succeed and my perseverance to continue accomplishing. Being the oldest sibling has challenged me to become the most ambitious person I can be. The scholarship award will help me push further towards my business management degree and my dream of one day having a successful career as a businesswoman. I just feel blessed that I am given the opportunity to be awarded a scholarship to help fulfill my dreams, my dreams for my family and the dreams that I am about to create by having this opportunity. I will prove that I do have what it takes to not only be a successful student, but an outstanding one.

I am from Haiti, which is one of the poorest country in the world. I never stop dreaming about the possibility to acquire quality education that will shape my personal and professional life. I was granted for a competitive merit-based scholarship during my undergrad. Currently, I am enrolled for a MBA program at Georgia State University, and I am looking for financial assistance to pay my tuition at this prestigious university. After the completion of my MBA, I plan at some point to back to my country to bring my contribution to the development of this country. I am staying with friends who graciously assist me with rooms and board. I remain at your disposal to share my personal story. I am in your debt

This scholarship is great if there will be more applicants and they will be given a chance to be part of this. I am an honor student and I grew up in a poor family. I am determined to finish school and find a good job to compensate for my parents' difficulty in educating me. I want to make them live luxuriously while they are still by my side.I have never experienced being a scholar. So I hope this is my chance to become a scholar. It was very difficult for my family to find money so that I could go to college. when I become a scholar, their suffering will be reduced and I will be happy to see them no longer have to worry too much about making money.

I am applying for this scholarship because my family can't afford to send me to college. Scholarships are my only resort and as an international I'm often times not eligible for a scholarship. This would be a dream come through. My family are depending on me to break the cycle since I will be the first among my siblings to attain a college degree. If not I might have to go back home and seek a job to repay the student loans that i already have. Please help me!

I am a first generation in the United States and first generation to go to college on my mothers side of the family. I was born on October 10th, 2003 in Tirana, Albania. One day, my mother decided to apply for the citizenship lottery they hold in Albania for an opportunity to leave to the States. My parents and my older sister have had a tough experience with immigration; before I was born, my parents and my older sister migrated to London, England illegally, but were deported after 4 years of living in a non safe neighborhood in London. My parents immigrated to America for my sister and I to have a better opportunity in life after a life of them living in communism era. I am applying to Cornell University as an architect major, and Cornell is a private and expensive school- almost being $63,000 and my parents cannot afford this and financial aid won't cover the whole cost. This scholarship will help me cover the other costs of going to Cornell University.

A scholarship can make a big difference in my education. The money from a scholarship helps by allowing me to be more selective in how I spend my free time. I'll be able to maximize the college experience through service-learning, volunteer opportunities and internships. This scholarship is a blessing for me, number one. It means a lot because not only is it helping me with college and I'm very honored to be getting the award. My career goals are teaching psychology ; that is what I will be majoring in. With this scholarship and the need-based grants I have been awarded, I can complete my education and continue to solve problems within my community. These are the areas I plan to serve. I am grateful to be considered for this scholarship opportunity, and should I be selected, I will use it to advance my physiologist education. I appreciate your consideration, and I look forward to building a lasting relationship with your organization.

I am an American citizen with two immigrant parents who were both born in Poland. I am applying for this scholarship because my family is struggling to pay for my college expenses. My family has overcome many challenges with immigration and citizenship. My parents were born in Communist Poland and came here with nothing years ago. Their whole lives were difficult and they have worked long hard hours since they arrived at the U.S. to create a better life for me and my sister. It is my dream to attend college in New York and major in psychology. With a Bachelor in Arts degree in psychology, I am hoping to get a Master’s degree in therapy or speech pathology. This way, I can help immigrant families work through their problems, whether it is through therapy or helping them and their children improve their speech. It is very difficult to learn a new language and sometimes people born in the U.S. cannot understand immigrants’ accents. Therefore, I would like to make a difference in people’s lives and make things easier for them, so they would not have to go through the same obstacles immigrants usually go through.

I am a Korean citizen. My family moved to America about 2 years ago. We moved because America is much better to live in. And I went to school. I wasn't good at English for the first time, but I didn't want to give up on my dream. So I kept studying English until I could communicate with people in school. It was really hard to go through because I couldn't understand in the class. But now I have a 3.4 GPA, and 1150 SAT scores. I know it's not a that great score, but I am working on it hard as I can. My dream is being architecture. But our family financial aid is not enough to pay tuition. I would appreciate it if I get this scholarship. Thanks for reading my writing.

With the help of her I graduated high school with a 4.2 GPA and I will be attending Nova Southeastern University. I really need a scholarship so that I can pursue my studies in tertiary education

tabarek  on 6/12/2020 1:23:13 AM

As a first generation immigrant, it has always been impressed upon me by my family the importance of education. A college education can make the difference in the well being of my life and provide me with the tools and opportunities I need to succeed in life. A college education is also essential in the development of my own identity as it will provide me with a sense of purpose and a reason to be proud of living in America. My ultimate goal in life is to be accomplished in my dreams and to be successful in any endeavor I choose to undertake. Although my own parents did not have the same access to education that I do, they still recognize the importance of a good education and push me to work hard on myself and my academic career. My mother has only ever known the life of a housewife, she never got past the third grade of elementary school in Iraq before she dropped out and devoted her life to her home and family. I think for myself specifically I want something more out of life. I want to live a life that challenges me in ways that contribute to the development of a fulfilling life. Personally, my organizational skills have helped me immensely as well as my ability to manage time. I am also extremely determined so when I set my mind to something I make sure it goes through. I would say that my weakness lies in all the information I have yet to leam. There is so much that I want to leam and explore and I will always be in the learning stage in life as you can never learn too much, only too little

I am a 18 year old girl who wants to make their immigrant parents proud. I have been in America as an immigrant since I was a year and 9 months old. I have gone through so many ups and downs. Many times I didn't care anymore, I just wanted to graduate and just do me. Soon as I started Junior year I realize how important my status is here in the U.S and really thought about my future and how much my parents have scarified their lives for me. I have had multiple people bring my dreams down and say I would never be anyone here. Fall of 2020 is just the beginning of my nursing career. I don't have the same benefits as many of my classmates. I don't receive money from FASFA which many depend on. This scholarship will be a huge help for me as I start my career and become the first person in my generation to have a degree.

Hello! I am from Panama City, Panama born and raised there. My dad started having economic problems when I entered high school so when I graduated high school she could not finish paying my junior or senior years of high school and because of that I didn't get my transcripts sent, I looked for a solution and studied to get my GED... I finally got my GED and I am ready to start university! My dad hasn't got any better economically in Panama, so I had to move with my mother to Austin Texas, my mom is also very poor... I work to help her pay the rent every month. Each person has a dream to become a successful person in the future. But sometimes, it is being prevented by some occurrences which we do not expect to come along our way. Well, as everyone aspires to have a stable life someday, I, too, have a dream to become one of them. However, in this modern era, we cannot deny the fact that money is really needed. It is one of the precious stuffs we must have in our pockets as the day passes by. As I introduce myself, I would like to ask everyone, who could read my comment, that this letter is only intended for this site. Obviously, I don`t need to write my name since it can be found in the upper part of the comment section. I am 21 years of age and currently taking Bachelor of Arts Major in Philosophy. My mother, who sustains my education, is already a senior citizen of this county and I don`t know if she`s still able to sustain my needs until the end. Honestly, I am trying to find some scholarships [every night] in the internet. Hoping that one night, I would be able to find a website that can help me with my problem. Until I found this site of scholarship.com and I hope of the better result ahead of me. In this connection, I would like to ask your benevolent help to propel my future needs in school. Any help would be highly appreciated. May God, who cannot be outdone His generosity, bless you a hundredfold.

I have been a student of LaGuardia Community College since September 2019. I was born and raised in India and came to the United States in 2019 with my parents. Since I started my college in the same year as I landed in the country, I am being charged with “Out of State Tuition”. Being a non-resident of New York State, I am not qualified for any financial aid programs like TAP and ASAP. Moreover, my parents are working as home health workers at minimum wage and making no more than 25,000 U.S dollars in a year. I had a part time job but had to quit due to this current pandemic. Consequently, it has become extremely hard to survive in these circumstances and pay monthly bills with my college expenses. I am committed to completing my education in spite of these situations and hope that you will consider my appeal. Due to the nature of my situation, I am requesting sufficient financial support to help me finish my degree which is a crucial step in achieving my future goals.

Creating has always been something deeply engraved in my sense of self. Having come from a family of innovators, I am surrounded by a history of all things creative. My Czechoslovakian roots tie to this. I am a daughter to an immigrant whose work ethic and determination was passed down to me. My father grew up in communist ruled Czechoslovakia and dreamt for a free and expressive life for himself and his children, there were no creative professions under communist rule. He risked his life and his family’s just so I could have the choice of expression. From glass blowing to engineering conceptualizing is simply a given within my family. For me, creating gives me an overwhelming sense of comfort and purpose, acting almost as a form of therapy. It allows me to connect with those before me while simultaneously forging my own path through my art.

I was adopted from Haiti at the age of seven, and have lived in America since then. America has been great. There are ups and downs when it comes to the U.S. but one of the greatest things about it is it's education. I am a High school graduate, looking for an opportunity to apply for this scholarship. My adopted parents are trying to pay for my education, but they can't cover all of it. Being from Haiti, I would like to go back one day and let them know that it is possible to get an education, despite your background, skin color, language, and more.

I am an Armenian citizen with permanent residence in the US I was adopted along with my brother who is bilaterally hearing impaired. My family has gone through multiple losses in the last few years and my father's income pays for household expenses. My mom is on disability and has been diagnosed with cancer. It has been removed but she cannot work full time. I have been accepted at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield Ct. I hold a 3.7 GPA and I'm a conscientious student. I am pursuing speech pathology and swallowing disorders. I have been offered a scholarship and have joined the work program but it leaves my family with 31,000 out of pocket. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am applying for this scholarships because I come to the United States of America in 2017 and I am raised by a single parent (mother). I want to study further and reach my goal. So, in this case I need more money because my major is biology and I want to become a dentist and it is a very long and expensive career. But, if I get this scholarship it will help me in my financial problem and I will give my best to reach my goals. I want to help our community by providing them some heath care in the future so to fulfill my dreams I need this scholarship. I always like to participate in extracurricular activities and in my school activities also. So, I will let my mother down and I will reach my goals one day. This scholarships is a way for me to start my career and I am really looking forward to get it.

Being an Astronaut has always been my dream. Most of my teenage years growing up in Bangladesh, I didn't have that opportunity. Now after immigrating into the US in 2016 in 9th grade. I believe it is my time to prosper. Now also being accepted into my dream college Stony Brook, one of the few colleges which offer Astrophysics. The financial disability is the only obstacle now stopping me from going to that college. That's why I applied for this scholarship. Because I think it relates to me, my past and if I win, it will affect my future.

I am applying for this scholarship because growing up I wasn’t raised by my mother or father and basically I’m on my own trying to pay my way through school. I want to purse my dream of becoming a physical therapist so I can help people in need of assistance. This scholarship will not only be helpful, but it will also be a blessing it will help me pay for tuition, books, and room and board
