  • Scholarship Description
  • Each fellowship and grant will be awarded on a competitive basis to an active Kappa Omicron Nu member who has demonstrated scholarship, research, and leadership potential. Awards will be made for study and research in human sciences or one of its specializations at colleges or universities with strong research programs and supporting disciplines for the chosen major or topic.

    -Current member of Kappa Omicron Nu
    -Enrolled in a master's program in human sciences or supporting disciplines
    -Demonstrated scholarship and interest in research
    -Relevance of study/research with significant concerns related to individual, family, and community development
    -Potential for professional leadership
    -3 letters of recommendation
    -Recipient will be notified May 15, and acceptance or rejection must be received by June 1
    -Submit an annual progress report to Kappa Omicron Nu. Should the study or its results be published, the name of the fellowship must be acknowledged.

A controversial immigration debate was canceled this week by a student group at The University of Chicago - a university which "prides itself on protecting free speech, even offensive speech."
