  • Scholarship Description
  • Our academic scholarships identify future leaders of the industry through a highly competitive application process. We provide up to 52 scholarships annually to students from the highest caliber of tourism and hospitality programs across the United States and Canada and award a total of $70,000 in scholarships.

    Tourism Cares Academic Scholarships are offered in three categories:

    Applicants for undergraduate and graduate scholarships must be full or part-time student enrolled in a travel, tourism, or hospitality related program of study who are pursuing an associate's, bachelor's, or masters degree and are enrolled in the fall semester of a two or four-year college/university in the U.S. or Canada. Minimum 3.0 GPA

    Applicants for graduate research scholarships must be full or part-time student conducting graduate research in a travel or tourism related field who is enrolled in the fall semester at a four-year university in the U.S. or Canada. Minimum 3.0

    Applicants for high school scholarships must be a citizen or permanent resident in the U.S. and a high school senior who has/will successfully completed/complete an Academy of Hospitality Tourism Program (AOHT) at their high school and is entering freshmen year in the fall semester at a two or four-year university in the U.S. or Canada. $43M in Loans Forgiven for Students of Closed Colleges

The federal government discharged more than $43 million in student loan debt for former students of recently closed for-profit colleges. Students who attended programs operated by Education Corporation of America, Dream Center Education Holdings, Vatterott College and Charlotte School of Law will be able to qualify for a full discharge of their federal loans if they were enrolled when their college closed or withdrew within 120 days of the official closure date and didn’t transfer to another institution, according to Inside Higher Education.
