According to the Higher Ed Immigrant Portal, first-generation immigrants accounted for 28% of all college and university students in 2018. Although there is no federal law prohibiting undocumented and DACA-eligible students from enrolling in higher education, the path to earning a degree can be challenging in today’s political climate.
