Hello! My name is Aamani and I am 15 years old. I am a sophomore at Irmo High School in Columbia, South Carolina. I plan on going to a four year university and major in nursing to pursue becoming a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit nurse with my BSN. This job means a lot to me, especially after having a mother who suffered with pre-term pregnancy. I am an extremely hardworking, confident and dedicated person, and this career comes with a lot of courage. As an African-American young girl, I want to be apart of making healthcare a more diverse area, being that there are only about 9% of African American nurses that make up the job. I would like to be the first person in my family to graduate from a school of nursing, and this scholarship would gain me money to accomplish that goal. I hope to hear back from the Scholarship Committee. Thank you for being available to me and various other students!

Hello, my name is Armando and I'm 19 years old and didn't go to college this first year because of work, but overall I'm still going because as Mexican American I wanna show that in this in this country dreams do come true. My parents came to this country to give me and my three sisters a better life because of the lack of opportunity. I wanna be able to change the mentality of Latinos all over the world , because some of them were born here and don't take the opportunity seriously, and there's young latinos out there that wish they had an opportunity. I'm here asking you all to take a chance on me, to change the mentality of people. I'm majoring in communications to be a sports analyst for ESPN and FOX SPORTS and be one of the greats. Thank you all, god bless you

Savannah S-F  on 12/8/2020 1:08:18 PM

When I graduate college, I want to excel in the exciting field of neurology through studying hard as well as inevitably getting into medical school to get my M.D. I want to become an innovative neurologist, because this has been a dream for me and we do not have a great quantity of African American Women within that field here in the U.S. Especially now, It would be important to research and study how people act and feel as a result of COVID-19. Due to the personal isolation of those in our community, this specific illness has increased those that suffer from depression. The impact on this not only affects the individual person but also their family, local communities, and how we can effectively work together to be a better society. With this in mind, my overall excitement for the field is why I want to contribute and become a neurologist and to ultimately help the world become a better and safer place for the future. I will channel what I have been dreaming of for years to ensure that this is my best academic year yet and continue that momentum into college. I feel that with my college experience I will learn more about myself and my degree. My major is pre neuroscience and cognitive studies and I’m excited at the opportunity to grow over the four years to come. This will help me lay a solid foundation for my future career as a neurologist and prepare me to best support those that I have the opportunity to help. Additionally, after achieving academic excellence for the four years of my undergraduate degree, I will be applying to medical school. Medical school will benefit me because I will learn and understand what is expected as a neurologist as well as learn the brain and research several different topics. Having the support of your organization alongside my passion and drive to succeed, I will achieve what I have been dreaming of my entire life. My inspiration comes from the doubters as well as the opportunity to join the distinguished grou

Isavella B  on 11/18/2020 3:33:38 PM

I am 18 years old and would be extremely grateful to receive this help. My plan is to go to Feik School of Pharmacy at University of Incarnate Word. I would love to be able to study at this University to be able to stay near my family and support them, as we have recently lost my father to suicide. They offer just what I need in order to become a pharmacist, and is the only pharmacy school here in San Antonio. Being that it is a private school, the costs are very expensive to attend. It would be a blessing to receive this financial help. Thank you for taking the time to read through this, I hope you have a wonderful day.

Abir Yahya  on 11/18/2020 2:27:53 PM

This scholarship would greatly impact my education/financial need. Ever since I was younger I have had to work harder than the other kids in my classes. After my father passed away while only the age of 4 years old, I had to grow up. One may say that is beyond young, but when you see your immigrant mother struggling to support 3 children you have no choice. I saw what hard work looks like from my mother who was effortlessly supporting her family with a smile on her face. Now, I am trying to do that for us all. I made her proud by getting a full ride to college for my undergraduate studies. Furthermore, that has not been the case for graduate school. I still have bills to pay, and because of Covid-19 my hours have been cut. I still continued to pursue my masters even though Covid-19 did take a financial toll on my siblings and I. This money will help me tremendously in easing some financial burden off of me, in order to better my family and push me to the greatest version of myself academically.

Good evening. I am a student in dire need of a scholarship. Neither one of my parents graduated high school and this scholarship would be a perfect opportunity for me to prove not only to other girls coming from a single parent background, but also to myself that you can overcome anything and that you don't not have to be a product of circumstances. My family has faced so many different challenges and I would be honored to one of the 4 recipients for this scholarship.

My plans are to study and attend Hampton University (HBCU) in Virginia. I feel like Hampton will be the best fit because I want to be the first in my family to go to a HBCU as a young black women. I would love to experience the memorable events and going to a college that have students that look like me and go through the same problems, I go through as a brown skinned american in america. They offer a good dental program that I've always wanted to attend since sophomore year. The only thing that is stopping me from attending, is the tuition. My family and I hope that I am in considered for this scholarship. Thank you for your time and I hope to hear from you soon.

I am a 15-year old sophomore who is planning to attend the University of Minnesota after HighSchool. I intend to major in Public health or Principal of Biomedical Science (PBS), and later attend the Kent State University of Pediatric Medicine as a med-student. I would like to receive this scholarship because I know that I won't be able to pay off all the tuition needed for the schools of my dream, and I don't want that to hold me back; surprisingly, I don't come from a family with wealth. My mom came to America with eight of my siblings to have a better life and leave a harmful environment. I am determined and willing to work as hard as possible to make my dreams a reality and help people on the way. I am currently in the Health Science Academy in my school and planning to join a Medical club during November. I have tried to participate in more actives and sports, but Covid has been a bit tricky to do so. Thank you for listening and for your time; I hope I answered some questions you have been wondering, stay safe, and have a good day.

I am 50 years old woman that is trying to further my degree as a Nurse Practitioner. I have never applied for any scholarships before, because I did not think I would get it, but I am a believer that all things are possible through Jesus Christ our savior. So here I am. I am greatly appreciated to have a chance to receive a scholarship. I have attempted too many credit hours to receive any Financial aid. I am a Register Nurse AS degree. I am a 17 year old girl. It has been my dream to attend the University of Alabama in Huntsville. The tuition cost is the main struggle with my attendance. My mother is the only working woman and provider in the household. I also have two older siblings that she is STILL responsible for with income. My father sadly has disabilities from an incident that occurred a few years ago which means he is unable to work. I mainly want to help out but my mother with the mother but she never allows me. I have trouble finding jobs and enough money to save. My senior expenses are all late due to the fact my family has no money. The money would give my mother relief from all that she has on her shoulders already.Thank You so much for even giving this opportunity for young teenagers who are in need. It means a lot.

Hello, My name is Hermon Tekalign and I am currently a Senior at Bishop Ireton High School. I am currently hoping to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry in the pre med track at Johns Hopkins Uiversity starting Fall of 2021. My name is Kristin and I am 18 years old. I desire this scholarship because I want to pay for my schooling at Rasmussen College. My main goal is to become a nurse and with this money it would give me a push in the right direction financially. I am currently working a part time job in a pediatric office to help pay for my tuition, but it wont be enough to cover the hefty payments for my classes. I know for a fact that this is the field that I was meant to be in and I would love nothing more than this generous donation to start my future career. Thank you.

I am an 18-year-old girl with a great desire to be able to get this help, as my plans are to study at Full Sail University. I wish I could study at this university, first of all because in Puerto Rico there is no university that fulfills my aspirations and all the incredible things that this university offers. They offer the studies of what I'm passionate about. Here, I will grow in every way as a person and as a professional in some future. In my home we are a family of two: my mom and I, and the cost of this university is very expensive to be able to cover it, so I hope I can get this help. Thank you for your time and I hope promptly answer, have a good day.
