  • Scholarship Description
  • Through the generosity of anonymous donors, Coastal Community Foundation has established the Reverend Pinckney Scholars Program. This program will be used to promote access to higher education for African American students by awarding scholarships and providing resources through a tailored program throughout college.

    The Foundation anticipates selecting eight (8) students for the inaugural class of Reverend Pinckney Scholars, to each receive $5,000-$10,000 per year for up to four (4) years of college. In addition to monetary support, the Foundation will provide pre-college training and assistance, contact and support from program staff each school year and invitations to workshops and events during each student's tenure as a Reverend Pinckney Scholar.

    Open to African American high school seniors whose permanent residence is in Beaufort, Charleston or Jasper Counties and are planning to attend a two- or four-year college in the upcoming fall.
