  • Scholarship Description
  • Criteria used by the Tri Kappa Scholarship Committee in the selection of recipients for this scholarship are: academic achievement, strong goals, extracurricular activities, volunteer service, and financial need. Applicants will be evaluated on the information supplied. Recipients will be notified approximately six weeks after the application deadline.

    -Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of Hammond
    -Be a high school senior graduating from an area high school
    -Be admitted as a full-time student at an accredited college, university, vocational school, or junior college for the fall term following high school graduation

    Scholarship packets must include:
    -Completed application form
    -Official transcript of high school grades, including 7th semester of the Hammond fall trimester of high school work
    -Goal statement (300 words or less). Submit a typed or handwritten essay explaining your short and long term goal and why you are applying for this scholarship
    -Resume (typed or handwritten). List the following information on a separate sheet of paper or an attached form
    -School extra-curricular activities, honors and awards received, community service activities and work experience
    -A letter of recommendation from your counselor or one of your teachers
