The Educational Foundation for Women in Accounting (EFWA) offers scholarships and mentoring programs to women who wish to pursue a degree in accounting. The mission of the EFWA is to support equitable access to career advancement and educational opportunities for women pursuing degrees in this field. The EFWA scholarship application opens in January and closes on April 30th for the majority of its scholarships, and the recipients are chosen by June 30th each year.

To be eligible for these scholarships, the applicants must be female U.S. citizens who are pursuing an accounting degree and are enrolled/attending an accredited U.S. school, and demonstrate financial need. Prior coursework or work experience should show evidence of the applicants’ aptitude for accounting and business.

By submitting just one application, these students can apply for multiple scholarships, however they need to carefully review the criteria of each one to find out if they are eligible. Note: students may apply for either the Women in Need OR the Women and Transition, not both.
