  • Scholarship Description
  • This scholarship is intended for students pursuing a degree in a paralegal program. The annual award will be determined in accordance with the Community Foundation of West Texas's annual spending rate in effect at the time of each award is made. The award will be split equally between two semesters.

    Eligibility:
    -Student's legal residence must be in one of the following Texas counties: Crosby, Floyd, Garza, Hale, Hockley, Lamb, Lubbock, Lynn, or Terry
    -Student's intent is to pursue a degree as a paralegal in a program approved by the State Bar of Texas Paralegal Division
    -Student must be currently enrolled for a minimum of 6 hours

Midway through his "It's OK to be White" speech at the University of Connecticut, Conservative commentator Lucian Wintrich was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct after he grabbed a woman who had swiped his notes off his lectern. The charges have since been dropped and in a reversal, the woman was arrested and charged with attempted larceny and disorderly conduct.
