In a time of large-scale disruption, what differences do you notice in your own life, the life of your family and the life of your peers? Has your view of the world changed? Your view of yourself? Has your prayer experience itself changed – strengthened, weakened, or expanded, as a result of the changes you’ve confronted?

Prayer Soup, Inc. is non-religious specific, educational non-profit organization and our goal is to encourage everyone to share their prayer experiences, rather than specific religious teachings, in the belief that in our search for purpose and meaning, we will discover more similarities with each other than differences. The reason why is because one of the most debated topics in America is how to provide affordable healthcare to the masses. While many focus on accessible health insurance, I believe the answer lies in accessible healthcare providers. Nurse practitioners often go unappreciated and unrecognized for their versatility and value in the medical profession. With this scholarship, I could continue my training to become a nurse practitioner and provide attainable medical services to underserved communities.

I applied for this scholarship because prayer has had such a very significant affect on my daily life, without prayers I will not have holy spirit to prompt and direct me to do the right things today, also the other reason I applied for this it's because I need some financial aid

Jayson R  on 1/29/2021 10:38:40 PM

I pray primarily because I believe there is a God who hears my prayers, and He cares about my thoughts and actions just as He cares about everyone else’s thoughts and actions. I pray that our world will heal from all the pain and suffering experienced in 2020. This scholarship is a wonderful way to start the process.

Prayer has changed my life in more ways than I can count. As a cradle catholic, it is so easy to over look the meaning and tradition behind each and every prayer we pray. Praying before meals turned into muscle memory, I didn't pray to thank the Lord but I prayed because I was supposed to. Although it was a good habit and didn't hurt to pray even though it was superficial, I have found a reborn, deeper relationship with the Lord that I would love to share.

My mother Prayed for me while she was caring me, she prayed for me before I went to sleep and before I got out of the car to started my school day. I grew up in a praying house hold and I thank god that he surrounded me with a strong faithful praying family. I have had cancer for my entire life and will have it until I die . It a part of my internal makeup and I pray everyday for strength to keep fighting . Power is in the word .

I applied for this scholarship because it has allowed me to learn more about my religion in ways I did not think possible. Being at home forced me to reflect on the things in my life that matter. Studying the Gita for what it is has allowed me to discern the true principles of my religion in contrast to the societal manipulation of it.

Caitlyn G  on 1/26/2021 11:42:05 AM

Prayer is simply having a conversation with God. I believe it is sometimes easy to think praying has to be this holy and grammatically sound thing when in all reality God just wants so hear our voice. Through prayer we can invite God to work and do mighty things in our lives. Where Gods Spirit is welcomed it is powerful. Prayer changes everything, there is power in prayer!

Sagen M  on 1/24/2021 12:51:47 PM

When I was growing up I prayed for everything. As the years passed the less and less till everything started to happen. I started to find my self praying when ever I got the chance.

Marelyn C  on 1/20/2021 11:43:00 PM

The reason why I applied for this scholarship is because ever since I was young I always prayed and now praying has helped me a lot. When I was young I really didn’t pray, I only prayed when it came to eating and thanking God. When I grew older, I grew a better understand about what praying really meant therefore I applied for this scholarship. I now know the importance of praying and this lead me to apply for this scholarship.

When COVID-19 hit, it seemed like everything in my life fell apart as well. The relationships in my life were breaking, I was not able to go to school, and the virus was frightening. All of the anxiety and worrying I had when the country first shut down put me into a deep depression. The next few months after quarantine were really hard for me until one Monday night in August. A friend of mine convinced me to go to a revival. As soon as I stepped into the church I felt very strong emotions. That night I prayed to god to forgive me for my sins and take me in as one of his own. If the effects of COVID-19 had not put me into the bad shape that I was in, I probably would not have been in that church that night and I would still be lost. COVID-19 may be causing a lot of heartbreak and chaos in this world, but for me it is a blessing in disguise.

Aaron R  on 1/18/2021 3:03:19 PM

Hello, my name is Aaron and one quote I've always had in my life is prayer and praise are the pathway from panic to peace. Prayer has power and it is often put on the back burner per se. With all the unrest in our society, I've noticed all I can do is pray. Pray for our nation, our brothers and sisters, our families, and our world. In my own life, I've worried so much about how powerless I felt. I sought the Lord and His peace. Through prayer, I am able to communicate personally, with the Creator of life. I have been able to find peace, joy, and comfort in and through prayer.

Andrew J  on 1/17/2021 3:35:54 PM

I applied for this Scholarship Because prayer has been a big part of my life, especially in the roughest part of my life, and even though Covid has swept the world, prayer still helps me go through it, no matter what changes around me.

Madellyne K  on 1/12/2021 10:05:33 PM

I applied for this scholarship because I wanted to share how my life has changed by prayer for the better. Before, I never usually prayed but in 2020 I really began to. It has taught me that God loves everyone and will forgive anyone. Because f prayer, we are able to accept Jesus as our Lord and become saved. It is an important thing especially in the days we live in now. By praying, we are able to put our trust in Him. Thank you for this opportunity. I am studying to become a nurse and to one day travel to a country that needs medical care and to show them the love of Jesus.

sarah f  on 1/11/2021 4:05:51 PM

From the start of 2020 to now, Covid hit my family pretty hard. My family has been struggling with money ever since my father passed away. Me being the oldest in the house sucks. I work 12 hours a day and I’m working on getting another job at night just so I can help my mom. Every night I pray to god and tell him about my day and to tell my father I said hi. Working two jobs is going to be ruff on me because I am in the process of finishing school. I now pay for my car and phone bill, as well as everything I eat, just so my mom won’t have to stress over feeding another child. I know in the end God will help me through this. I applied to this scholarship because anywhere I choose to go to college at my family won't be able to help me out. Which is okay I will work towards my future on my own.

Brianna B  on 1/10/2021 5:13:11 PM

I personally believe that there is so much power in prayer. Prayer has helped me get through the hardships that have been thrown at me in life, and never fails to help me become a better person. God is always on my side I have learned, and praying to him daily has really helped me overcome challenges and has also helped me throughout my journey of growth, peace, and prosperity.

Sage L  on 1/8/2021 3:50:38 PM

I applied for this scholarship in hopes to inspire others about my prayer life, faith, and general perspective on life. I'm beyond grateful that I had the opportunity to apply for this scholarship. In addition, I need financial help if I want to go to a college I'm planning on attending. Prayer is immensely crucial to me because it's essential in my relationship with the Heavenly Father. In prayer, we speak into existence just as our Almighty God, the Alpha, and the Omega did at the beginning of what we classify as time. But for Him, He works outside of time. If you're reading this right now know that you have a purpose, you are not alone and you are loved. If you're reading this, you're alive right now meaning that God's not done with you yet! You matter! God's love for His children is evident. May you be blessed with peace and goodness. It is because of faith we are filled with inexpressible and glorious joy. In the midst of it all, choose joy! "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love and of a sound mind" (Timothy 1:7).

Audrie S.  on 1/8/2021 9:29:49 AM

I think this scholarship is a fantastic opportunity for people to share the comfort of Christ and to think back at what the Lord has helped us through. 2020 was a year, and I know that's something we can all agree on!

Kailynn N. Cruz  on 1/7/2021 8:49:09 AM

Excited to apply for this scholarship as it would be of great help to me to continue my education. I know that with prayer and God, all things are possible.

Faith B  on 1/5/2021 9:56:38 AM

I will be applying for this scholarship. Firstly, I never thought I'd even get into college and now that I've been accepted into one by the grace of God the only thing holding me back are financial issues. My Walk of Faith have deeply strengthen during Covid so I will be staying positive while applying for competitive scholarships like these and believe in myself that it is possible for me to win! God Bless You All!!

Jane M  on 12/30/2020 11:50:52 AM

I applied for this scholarship because growing up UU I have never traditionally prayed but the past few months I have learned more about myself through my form of prayer.

Gurleen K  on 12/27/2020 1:11:00 PM

Growing up in an Indian household every Sunday me and my family would go to the Gurdwara to pray and listen to paath. When COVID-19 started me and my family had to stop going to the gurdwara because it had to close down because COVID-19 was spreading so fast, during this time I would always pray in my room every Sunday and fall asleep listening to paath we still haven't gone to the gurdwara because we recently lost my grandpa and uncle to COVID-19 and it has been a very tough time, because my grandpa had passed away first and then eight months later my uncle passed away, because of this we had to pay for two funerals which wasn't cheap it was really expensive. so getting this Scholarship would help me tremendously because I would be able to go to college and pursue a higher education where I can help people afterwards and help heal them. Because I am studying to become a Physician Assistant.

Alexis M  on 12/26/2020 8:31:16 PM

Praying has always played a major role in my life. When I was little I used to say the same prayer every night before I went to bed. Once I got older I realized the importance of prayer. It isn't just something to do before every meal or before bed, it is a state of mind, it is a conversation with God. There is not specific way to pray, there is no right or wrong way. A prayer is what you feel, what you need, what you want God to know. A prayer is how you grow with God, a prayer is just a conversation, but it is also so much more at the same time. I am applying for this scholarship because I need the money to go to my dream college, Oklahoma Baptist University. I want to major in nursing and that costs a lot of money. Prayer always plays a role in what I want to do, prayer is a major part of the medical field, many think that it is science, but I believe that it is Gods hand through prayer that pulls people through.

salehe ekuchi  on 12/17/2020 12:42:42 PM

Calli K  on 12/16/2020 11:26:23 AM

Growing up in a Mennonite Church, I was always taught to love others, and pour my heart into God's word. I could never think for myself and was always just told what to do. As a high school senior who is focused on making good decisions for the future, I have learned that God is my rock and without him, I will fail. He is the center of my life and I am excited to continue my education at a Mennonite college.

Katalina D  on 12/16/2020 11:23:03 AM

Praying is not something I grew up doing, but when I was sent to Foster Care and was adopted, it made my life do a full 180 turn.

Zehra H  on 12/11/2020 7:54:00 PM

Waking up early in the morning as I get up to pray fajr, which is the first prayer in Islam out of the 5. As a Muslim, I am taught to rely on God however I must put in the work to achieve success. Being able to fulfill the daily 5 prayers throughout the day, is tough and comes with somewhat a hardship, though this pandemic has taught me and had given me a reality check, as I was missing some prayers, I realized that at any moment in my life can be taken away, as millions of people were dying. I become more religious and grew my faith by observing the hijab which is a head-covering, as well as being modest in both my character and clothing, It allowed me to focus more on being more spiritual, and made praying much easier since I was already in the proper attire to pray in. My prayers are now strong, though sometimes it's not easy as nothing is in life. Praying has been the best blessing I was taught, being able to place my forehead on the ground to worship my one and only lord. It has brought great benefit to my life, and blessing. Being able to fulfill what my lord has decreed upon me is something nothing in this world can do to fill my soul with satisfaction.

Rosepa.B  on 11/25/2020 4:41:54 PM

This scholarship is very needed and I'm grateful I can get this kind of scholarship, because I really want to continue my education but with the lack of finance and with my growing family, I wish to get into some scholarships and maybe one day, I will donor back to help others who are in need of scholarship to help build their community and better saints themselves and to their neighbors.

At a very young age I was taught to pray and believe in my religion. At ten years old I remember hearing about my grandfather's cancer and that's when I really started to understand the true impact of belief.

I'm applying for this scholarship because for the 1st time I can write about a close friend of mine that was shot and killed at his high school. That hurt! There were many prayers for him. It was one of the saddest times in my life this far. I have always prayed since a little girl and I will always continue to pray. May God bless you all.

Jenna B  on 1/1/2020 6:49:52 PM

I've only been praying for about 2 months now and It's changed my life. I've grown up in a agnostic household. My family and I have morals that we stick to and I've had a great life growing up, but finding the love of Jesus has made it even better. I hope other people feel this as well. Good luck to everyone with the scholarship!!

Rhyan E-M  on 12/25/2019 3:21:41 PM

I applied for this scholarship because being a freshman people ask you everyday " What do you want to do when you graduate High school". The first thing I say is life is to short for me not to answer that question. It hard not knowing if you want to go to college and if so how much money u need to save up. The only thing I can do you pray and hope for the best. I want to apple for this scholarship, And if I get it ever though I'm in the ninth grade it would be a great opportunity for me and my family.

Agustin  on 12/22/2019 7:31:29 PM

I have been able to experience God's infinite mercy through prayer as well as the sacrament of reconciliation. Being able to physically hear God say the words of absolution feels like being baptized, cleansed of sin and renewing of your relationship with God.

Avoid Student Debt at Colleges with No Student Loans

by Izzy Hall

Here at Scholarships.com, we connect students with scholarships that can help alleviate the amount of student loans they need to take out to pay for college. But there are colleges out there that offer students such generous financial aid packages that they need to take out very little in loans if at all. These “no student loans” colleges replace student loans in financial aid packages with additional scholarships and grants to help fund a student’s tuition. Students accepted into these schools will pay much less than the cost of tuition and thus will not be as burdened with student debt. [...]
