  • Scholarship Description
  • The Western Digital Scholarship Program was established to help realize the potential of future scientists, technologists, engineers and mathematicians, as well the dependents of its talented workforce. The global program is committed to awarding up to $1 million in scholarships to encourage and assist students whose educational opportunities will be expanded by financial assistance. Because when we uplift students to reach their goals, we all win. This scholarship is intended for women and students of Latino or African-American descent who are majoring in STEM related fields and legal dependents of Western Digital employees who are planning to attend an accredited four-year college.

    Western Digital is committed to addressing access to STEM education for underrepresented and underprivileged students. Scholarships are currently awarded to deserving students in the United States, China, India, Israel*, Japan, Malaysia, Philippines, and Thailand. *Scholarships in Israel are supported through a partnership with ATIDIIM. "U of Farmington" Fraudsters Prosecuted, Deported

Amazon Offers $40K Future Engineer Scholarships

E-tail giant Amazon is now accepting applications to its Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program for students entering college in the fall of 2020. NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]
