Scholarship Description

As fashion's leading educational non-profit, FSF grants the single largest sum of money and total number of scholarships in the entire industry. Annually, we present scholarships from $5,000 to $30,000 to the best and brightest students in both business and design.

Underwriter of the annual Geoffrey Beene Awards Dinner and contributor of over $5 million to the YMA FSF, the Geoffrey Beene Foundation offers four $30,000 scholarships annually to the most qualified and deserving scholarships. Each member school can submit one nominee who is then required to compete in the Geoffrey Beene case study. Eight finalists are chosen to come to the New York City to present their case study to the YMA SFS Executive Committee. The top four finalists are announced at the Awards Gala and granted an additional $30,000 scholarship award.

In addition to the four $30,000 scholarships granted by the Geoffrey Beene Foundation, there are also four $10,000 scholarships awarded to the remaining Geoffrey Beene finalists.

Eligibility: -Qualifying students must be enrolled as full-time students at one of the YMA FSF member schools -Eligible students must be a current freshman, sophomore, junior or senior. Please note seniors graduating in fall cannot compete for the scholarship -Must have an overall 3.2 GPA or higher -Majors closely aligned to the fashion industry, including, but not limited to: advertising, communications, consumer science, apparel design, graphic design, economics, fiber science, finance, information technology, management, marketing, merchandising, retail studies, supply chain management, etc. -Students must have a desire and passion to enter the fashion industry -Only one previous year $5,000 YMA FSF scholarship winner from each school is eligible for the Geoffrey Beene Scholarship and must be nominated by his or her school to be considered
