  • Scholarship Description
  • The Elmer and Rosa Lee Collins Scholarship was established in September 2006 by Elmer H. Collins to provide a college scholarship to a worthy graduating high school senior from a Forsyth County high school who will attend an accredited four-year college or university. The scholarship may provide a renewable award for four consecutive years. Scholarships will be applied to the cost of tuition, fees, room and board, and other college expenses.

    To receive consideration, applicants must:
    -Attend a Forsyth County high school and reside in The Winston-Salem’s Foundation service area
    -Be a graduating high school senior
    -Have a minimum cumulative unweighted GPA of 3.5
    and a transcript reflecting a challenging course selection
    -Demonstrate financial need, but not restricted to lower incomes (student's merit will be considered to a greater degree)
    -Demonstrates character and purpose as evidenced in school, community, church, and work activities
