  • Scholarship Description
  • The Edwards Scholarship Fund was established in 1939 by Grace M. Edwards, a lifelong resident of Boston. The Fund seeks to further the development of good citizenship through education by offering college scholarships to men and women of good character and ability who are in need of financial assistance. Her Scholarship has helped thousands of students over the years. Recipients are asked to contribute to the Fund when their incomes allow in order to extend the legacy of Grace Edwards.

    Eligibility:
    -Must be a resident in the City of Boston from at least junior year of high school
    -Eligible neighborhoods include: Allston, Back Bay, Bay Village/South Cove, Beacon Hill, Brighton, Charlestown, Chinatown/Leather District, Dorchester, Downtown/Financial District, East Boston, Fenway/Kenmore, Hyde Park, Jamaica Plain, Mattapan, Mission Hill, North End, Roslindale, Roxbury, South Boston, South End, West End, and West Roxbury
    -Minimum 2.0 GPA
    -Must have a high school diploma or GED
    -College students can apply but priority is given to high school seniors
    -Scholarships are renewable up to 4 years of undergraduate education. Trustees can allow additional time when special circumstances merit an extension
    -Relatives of Trustees, employees, and major donors of the fund are not eligible to apply

Im attending a trade school, and applying to help my parents out with affording college. I've received my cosmetology license and certificate for ultrasonic but I want to further my education. My dream college is Lawrence Memorial/Regis college two year nursing program to become a esthetician. Receiving a scholarship would really help me reach my goals and dreams In life.
