  • Scholarship Description
  • The FMC Skaters Scholarship program was developed in 1993 to provide nancial assistance to ice sports participants and recreational ice skaters that demonstrate personal excellence on and off the ice. The scholarships are awarded to ice hockey, gure skating and recreational skating participants in June of each year. All applicants must be New England residents and skate at FMC arenas.

    Over the past 22 years, FMC has awarded over $380,000 in educational scholarships to 420 high school graduates seeking to further their education. Scholarship winners are selected by a review committee and are based on the applicant's academic performance, involvement in extracurricular and community activities, as well as their accomplishments and leadership on the ice.

    Supplemental materials:
    -Student resume of the past four years, including skating/hockey background, extracurricular activities, community service, honors, and awards. Please note the grade you were in during each activity
    -500-word essay describing a time when skating had a significant influence and impact on your life or personal
    development
    -One letter of recommendation from a teacher or coach
    -Official high school transcripts
    -SAT or ACT scores
