  • Scholarship Description
  • This will be awarded to a woman in graduate study during the next academic year. The scholarship is open to women who are citizens of the United States and residents of the State of California. All areas of study are accepted, but consideration will be given to the candidate's potential contribution to society. Preference will be given to young women completing their graduate education rather than to those making career changes.

    Applicants must have received a bachelor's degree prior to fall of the award year, be enrolling in or currently enrolled in a graduate degree (master's or doctorate) program at an accredited institution of higher education in Los Angeles County, demonstrate financial need, have performed services for her community, and filed completed application materials, including official college transcripts of all upper division and graduate level work, and three letters of recommendation,

Amazon Offers $40K Future Engineer Scholarships

E-tail giant Amazon is now accepting applications to its Amazon Future Engineer Scholarship Program for students entering college in the fall of 2020. NC Senator Proposes Taxing of Athletic Scholarships

In response to the NCAA's vote to allow athletes to profit from their names, images and likeness, Senator Richard Burr of North Carolina has proposed taxing those scholarships. Senator Burr tweeted: "If college athletes are going to make money off their likenesses while in school, their scholarships should be treated like income. I'll be introducing legislation that subjects scholarships given to athletes who choose to 'cash in' to income taxes." [...]

Gucci Gaffe Results in Green for Grads

Gucci is releasing a new line of... diversity undergraduate scholarships for students who are "traditionally underrepresented in the fashion industry." The 1.5 million U.S. university college scholarship program is set to run for four years, targeting students who attend four-year universities.
