Hi, my name is Naod Assayehegn Haile. I live in Asmara Eritrea, which is found in the horn of Africa. I am student in electrical and electronic engineering at Eritrea institute of technology (E.I.T). From high school I graduated with high school degree with 3.8 GPA. And get the opportunity to go to college. Now I am fourth year student taking the electrical and electronic engineering with cumulative GPA of 3.78 and losing hope at my dream. What I am saying is, ever since high school I always want study engineering in electronic and electrical and astronomical .But here in Eritrea we don’t have college for astronomy so I decided to go with electrical and electronic engineering. I was so excited to take that department at that moment. Even I started it with GPA of 4.0.But after that the department was left without teachers and most of the time the whole country goes black down (no power at all).About the teachers we have only the graduate assistant, who passed the same way we are now and other courses, the head department told us it is up to us to cover it and about the exam they bring questions from the international universities or colleges like yours anyway I am so impressed with your questions. Even the graduate assistant all run away to the neighboring country like Ethiopia, Sudan because they get no salary. If we give comments about the condition of our department the only answer we get is none of your business. That is ok because they are teaching us for free using the people money. And to see things what we have learned in class in practical in the lab, we can’t because of no power. For two year we never been in lab.if u want to make research we don’t have full internet access at the campus. It is only like 500MB for the whole college students. Now I feel that I am wasting my time for nothing. If I left the college, I have no choice but to go to military. My friends left the collage when we were second year, but I watch them get suffered in the military, the

University to Give New Students Free Laptops for Filing the FAFSA

April 6, 2021

by Izzy Hall

The coronavirus made laptops a necessity for college students. Where before students without personal computers or laptops could use on-campus computers and provided software to meet the technological needs of their courses, the shift last spring to online classes necessitated that students have a stable internet connection and a compatible device. While the majority of students were able to meet this requirement, according to a study by EDUCASE, some students found themselves without a modern laptop that could run the most up-to-date browser, use RAM-heavy software or keep up even with reliable high-speed Wi-Fi. One university has announced a unique remedy for this technical situation. [...]

The Longest Wait List Ever? What to Expect

March 31, 2021

by Izzy Hall

When students hear back from colleges in the coming weeks, they may not get a firm acceptance or rejection, but rather get put on the wait list. Getting waitlisted is a normal part of the college admissions process, but some experts say that this year the wait list could turn into the longest it has ever been.
