Travel may just be the ultimate human experience. Venturing into the unknown, exploring a place or culture unfamiliar to you… it’s difficult to argue there is any more life-changing learning experience than being able to see the world from a new and different perspective.
ELR’s $1000 Study Abroad Scholarship is titled, “There’s a Filter for That,” because it is a video contest!
Submissions should address the following prompt:
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one’s lifetime.”
So goes one of the well-traveled Mark Twain’s most famous quotes.
To enter “There’s a Filter for That,” please submit an original video on the contest submission page between 30 seconds and 2-minutes in length that creatively explains how studying abroad can be “fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness” in today’s world. Awards may be used towards program fees as well as necessary travel expenses (e.g., airplane tickets, passport fees, etc.).
Experiential Learning Resources is excited to offer this scholarship award of up to $1000 to study outside of the United States. Please see the contest rules on this page, or the full contest rules on our website, for more information on eligibility and submission requirements.
