I applied for this scholarship because I lost my father last year which was a huge emotional and financial burden. I want this scholarship so my mom does not have to focus on trying to get me through college financially. This would help me and my family so much!

I applied for this scholarship all the way back in August but have not heard anything about if I won or not. I am worried because I might not be able to go to collage without scholarship help and I have applied to a lot of them but haven't got any when a lot of my class mates already received word if they have gotten a scholarship or not.

But the University of California system has gone in an entirely different direction by announcing that will no longer require the SAT or ACT for all California state applicants. [...]
