To apply for a scholarship, students must start their junior or senior year in the fall of 2023 and be enrolled at an accredited university in Connecticut or be a Connecticut resident enrolled in an accredited university in any state or country studying journalism. Winner’s checks will be made out to student’s account, care of their school or bursar’s office. The application and any accompanying files including transcripts must be received by 11:59 p.m. on the day of the deadline listed. Awards may not be given if applicants do not meet the competition’s standards.

A 500-word essay telling us about a current event that captured your interest. How did you stay informed about the event? Why were you so interested in it? How did it affect you?
